And bought this big dumb heavy thing. I couldn’t get it out of my mind. Even after I checked out a Thruxton R 1200 and a street triple. I’m still thinking about them, but the Harley just does it for me. In the future I’m sure I will end up getting something not Harley as well, but for now I’m happy with this. This one is a 2011 with only 900 miles on it and it cost $3k less than a new one.

How does it sound

2 wheels good!
now, to get you on to a real bike and not a mens sized vibrator :P
kidding! have many happy miles with it!

De-baffled factory pipes, so it sounds good, like a Harley should, but nowhere near obnoxiously loud.

I love the Sportsters. Kudos.

also, because I have to: WEAR YOUR GEAR

Har har! I would actually love another bike, like a street triple or monster. Although the Thruxton R was dead sexy. I think I need a veritable quiver of bikes...

I really like the size of those tires. I don’t want to like a Harley, but this one is getting my attention....
![]() 04/17/2016 at 23:08 |

No kidding. The huge tires and peanut tank kinda make the bike.

Very nice! Congratulations!

Ignoring the Harley haters is a good thing!
I happen to have a nice Softail for sale. So I’m biased.
And yea, the Ford tractor is for sale too.

Thanks!
![]() 04/17/2016 at 23:11 |

Nice! I love the look of softails. Are you replacing it with something?
![]() 04/17/2016 at 23:16 |
|
That depends on where I move to. If I get this gig in Dubuque or another in the Quad Cities the bike is no longer for sale.
If I stay in Chicago? Gone.

Good luck. I hope it all works out the way you want it to.

Tell me more about the tractor.

Looks good!

Can do. It’s a Ford LGT 125 repowered with a Kohler 16 HP plant. It’s a Hydro and has the accessory ports for almost anything.
Looking for a Lawn tractor?

Well it has two wheels, an air-cooled V-twin, lots of chrome, seats two and has a big windshield...

I really don’t need one (but kind of want it anyways), but my buddy might be interested.

Congrats! You’re gonna love it. Here’s my big dumb heavy thing:

Curious to know, what's the turning like with those tires?

Thanks! I love the look of your exhaust!

Fine for me I guess, but not right by any means. I’m used to bigger, dumber, and heavier than this. Cruises well and steering tracks nicely for what it is.

I always tell myself I don’t like Harleys but... I really really like that. Nice bike man. I could never pull one off, just isn’t me. But sometimes I really wish I could.
![]() 04/18/2016 at 03:32 |

Thanks. I feel like I couldn’t pull off a Ducati. But really, I think a well designed bike looks good no matter how ugly the poor bastard riding it is.

I dig it. Im not a motorcycle guy, but I like how some Harley bikes look. I would personally go for a softtail with a sweeping rear fender if I ever lost my “two wheels bad” mindset....I’m digging the sidewall, looks mean.

You gotta go with your gut on purchases like that. Looks like a good one. Have fun!

Ahhh.. I figured that you were gonna get the harley.. Congrats.. Which one is that?

I do agree. My imagination likes me on a Honda CB750 or some other British or Japanese cafe racer sort of thing. Probably looking to get started on a newish CB300 or similar to get the hang of riding once I’m out of college in a few years. My dad has given me the ultimatum of no motorcycles while I’m on his health insurance which is more than fair.

Forty Eight. I’m happy with it so far. I just wish I had more money so I could more bikes.

Cheapest and probably coolest mod I’ve done... Definitely gets the most remarks. $25 and it’s super easy to install. If you buy the “DEI Titanium” you don’t even have to soak or seal it. Just wrap it tight and put a hose clamp on the end.
![]() 04/18/2016 at 14:38 |

Definitely seems fair. The hard thing is that there are so many awesome bikes out right now, and not enough money.
![]() 04/18/2016 at 14:51 |
|
Yeah- a vertible armada of different bikes is the goal for sure.
![]() 04/18/2016 at 18:45 |
|
Yeah. That stuff looks cool and helps keep the rider from getting quite so hot sitting at lights and such.

Don’t listen to him. His 650 vibrator isn’t men’s sized.

How much?

My god that's gorgeous....

I will stab you square in the dickhole.

I’m waiting for dad to make up his mind on it yet. It’s a 1980 LGT 125 with a 16 horse Kohler and Hydro drive. I only have the plow and mower deck attachments right now.
![]() 04/21/2016 at 20:14 |
|
Not right away. I may be moving out of state soon so I need to pare down.
![]() 04/21/2016 at 20:16 |

The bike? I have it priced in the “I don’t really want to sell it” range right now at $11,500. It’s worth at least $10000 though so there isn’t a lot of wiggle room.
![]() 04/21/2016 at 21:35 |

Is the plow hydraulically operated?
![]() 04/21/2016 at 21:50 |

No, not this one but there is one out there. There’s also a Hydro snowthrower for them.
